Menstrual cup insertion?

I just boughta lkadycup menstrual cup...i am having sort of a hard time putting it in. I didn't try for very long because I am actually sort of afraid because of what happened the first time. I put in part of the way and it snapped open before it should have. it really hurt!! I am a virgin so that's probably one reason why it is difficult for me. I am, however 20 and have been using tampons for years so i didn't think it would be a huge deal. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any tips of what i should do so I have a better time putting it in?
