Does Lying/Being Manipulative Make a Person Successful/Popular/Happy?

I know many people who cheat, lie and live the good life. I have also met people who cheat and lie and live a horrible life regardless. Same applies for "good" people. It's all luck of the draw. However, I REALLY hope people like your friend (whether they are a snot nosed cheerleader or a felon) have guilt that eats away at them every night. I can't stand to live in a world where assholes get a free ride.......
